The Student Recreation and Fitness Center is the third facility Rick has opened. He was actively involved in opening recreation centers at San Diego State University (1997) and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (1993). He considers himself lucky to be involved in the significant achievements at the three CSU campuses. Rick's main responsibility is to ensure Recreational Sports offers great facilities, programs and services to the CSUSB community, especially students. Students voted for the new facility and their support is instrumental to the success of recreation and fitness at CSUSB. Rick reminds Recreational Sports staff to never forget their contribution. The new Student Recreation and Fitness Center is an incredible facility and it is Rick's goal to keep the campus community continually impressed by our service. Rick provides support and guidance to all Recreational Sports staff and assists them in their efforts to provide high quality programs. Our staff our known for the light blue staff shirts. As you can see, this has led to Rick earning the nickname of "Papa Smurf."

He just completed his Masters in Public Administration and has a bachelors in Exercise Science and Nutrition both from Southeast Missouri State University where he also lettered in football. He is also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incoporated. He is a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. He is a family man who loves his daughter Alayla very much. If you like to work hard and play hard, he is here for you. He knows that EXERCISE IS A WAY OF LIFE, NOT A FAD!

Currently she is attending classes at California Baptist University to get her Masters of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology and her Masters of Arts Degree in Forensic Psychology. Even though she is attending CBU, her heart will always be at CSUSB where she obtained her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology. Andi is known for knowing something about everything and having anything you could ever need at her desk. She is also known for talking nonstop about her amazing nephew, Chuka! Andi hopes that she can answer any questions that you might have about the Administrative Office!

Mike is "the" man at Rec Sports. He's always busy taking care of the Rec Sports department. Making sure everything is in working order and good shape. He is the specialist for fixing things in and around the Rec Sports building. Not only is he a maintenance specialist extrordinaire, he can also see with his eyes closed!
|Rich is the guy you need to know for all your computer problems. He makes sure all the systems are up and running so the Rec Center can function properly. On his spare time he likes to play video games, hang out with his awesomely cool wife, and just relax.
|Ryan is currently working on his Masters in Criminal Justice here at CSUSB.If you think you recognize him, its because he is also our resident Butts-n-Guts and Vintage Fitness Group Exercise Teacher. His personal fitness philosophy is "You can do anything you put your mind to. I strive to be the best at everything I do." Ryan has been certified and working as a Personal Trainer since 2007. He has also been invovled in athletics his whole life. mainly in soccer and baseball. Ryan played soccer collegiately for the Coyotes and served as captain of one of the best soccer teams in the history of CSUSB athletics. Ryan enjoys the competitive nature sport brings into the Rec Center.Ryan LOVES to work out. He is always out there challenging his body to the max. Ryan also enjoys playing sports, challenging Rick to Ping Pong or any other competitive activity and spending time with his girlfriend.
Malik is a third year Accounting Major who loves the little things in life. He is very outgoing and likes to have fun with everything he is doing. Some say he is a little kid in a big man's body. Some of his favorite hobbies are skateboarding and playing "Call of Duty". He is very involved on campus as well. He is a Residant Assistant on campus, Student Orientation Advising and Registration (aka SOAR) leader, and a Brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon (ΣΦΕ). "If you'd like to know more" he says, "feel free to stop by on your way out from working out at our beautiful Rec. Center."
David is a Senior at CSUSB and is a Business Administration (finance) major with a minor in awesomeness. When he's not dancing around a fire and singing about how great his most recently devowerd s'more was, you can usually find him outside hiking, biking, climbing, kayaking, camping, road tripping or planning his next escape from the city. Favorite places to get away to: Channel Islands Natl Park, Zion Natl Park, Joshua Tree Natl Park, Yosemite Natl Park, and VEGAS. Items you'd find in his trunk: Cameras, trekking poles, wetsuit, an assortment of climbing gear, a random sock, an afro, a hammock, a duck hat (hey, don't judge), and more than one crumpled up chipotle bag. He's also got a thing for girls that like alligators, just fyi. He's fun to talk to and loves introducing new people to climbing, so don't hesitate to ask him to teach you how!

He would say the things he likes to do when he has free time are working out, playing sports and traveling. Snowboarding is a must every winter. He enjoys being around good friends and family. He is also very competitive in everything he does. He was Born in San Diego, but has been all over the United States and lived in Germany. College is where he is at now in his life and he loves every day of it.
|Ryan is currently a senior working on his Bachelors of Art degree in Computer Science. He is working towards becoming an officer in the Air Force and is currently going through ROTC. Ryan has dedicated most of his time and most of the bones in his body to his favorite hobby; MOTOCROSS! Danny is his name and being a junior here at CSUSB and pursuing his major in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science is his game. Danny enjoys playing pretty much any sport there is and also loves to try new things! When he is not working at the Rec. Center he enjoys hanging out with his family, friends and his Sigma Chi Fraternity Brothers (ΣΧ).
