Rocket - OD Mascot
Rocket is in his first year at CSUSB and is undeclared as a major. He hopes to get accepted into the nursing program but is confronted with the challenge of being a stuffed animal and not able to take someone's temperature or give shots.With CSUSB Outdoors, he acts as our official mascot and plays the important role of "keeping it real"? on each outing. When not on an outing, Rocket can be found nesting deep inside of someone's backpack. 
Mark Oswood - Outdoor Programs Coordinator
Mark is responsible for the Outdoors, Climbing Wall and Marketing programs here at Rec Sports. He is a skilled outdoorsman and energetic guy. Mark tells us he can tame any river in a canoe. However, when he is caged in the department's office, he conquers the rabid photo copier instead. In the circle of Rec Sports, mark prey's on the marketing team. If you like to swim, climb, hike, surf, snowboard or just enjoy the outdoors, Mark is here for you.

David is a Senior at CSUSB and is a Business Administration (finance) major with a minor in awesomeness. When he's not dancing around a fire and singing about how great his most recently devowerd s'more was, you can usually find him outside hiking, biking, climbing, kayaking, camping, road tripping or planning his next escape from the city. Favorite places to get away to: Channel Islands Natl Park, Zion Natl Park, Joshua Tree Natl Park, Yosemite Natl Park, and VEGAS. Items you'd find in his trunk: Cameras, trekking poles, wetsuit, an assortment of climbing gear, a random sock, an afro, a hammock, a duck hat (hey, don't judge), and more than one crumpled up chipotle bag. He's also got a thing for girls that like alligators, just fyi. He's fun to talk to and loves introducing new people to climbing, so don't hesitate to ask him to teach you how!

Angie is a a self-proclaimed intellectual bum, she loves reading, writing and learning almost about anything. She's a double major in Spanish Literature and Spanish Communications with a minor in Script Writing here at CSUSB, but when asked what she wants to do with her multiple degrees, she will simply shrug and say "I don't know yet" (hence the intellectual bum). Passionate about what she studies, get her talking about Latin America or Spain and you may never get her to shut up. Angie loves to travel, and has some pretty crazy stories about her travels abroad. She's also involved in Outdoors and has been hiking, camping, and rappelling since she was very young, which has led her to her new love of rockclimbing. If she's not working at the rock wall, she's hanging out at the rock wall. And if she's not there, chances are you will find her at Starbucks, feeding her caffeine addiction, reading, writing, daydreaming and people watching.
Shannon Beasley - OD Trip Leader
Shannon graduated from CSUSB in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Sciences. She is considering becoming a Registered Dietitian but is also drawn to a career in the outdoors. Her hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, kayaking, hiking and camping. She loves adventure, thrill seeking and trying new things, with the exception of eating food with onions. She is an active trip leader for CSUSB Outdoors as well as Kappa Delta Sorority, Nutrition Student Association, and more.

Jessica, most commonly known as "JJ" is an undergrad student here at CSUSB studying Geology. She hopes to travel the world and experience all different types of cultures, especially their food. JJ enjoys meeting new people, trying new things, and going on adventures. One day she hopes to say that she's been to all the countries of the world, and has tried nearly every extreme sport at least once.
Timea Kernacova - OD Trip Volunteer
When I'm not climbing trees I'm studying English Education at SUNY Buffalo. The need for adventure brought me to San Bernardino for my Junior year and enabled me to continue doing what I love doing most but in the sunny state of California! As most others I enjoy: hiking, skiing, cycling, climbing, backpacking, kayaking, horseback riding and since this summer; surfing! Speaking in broader terms, anything done outside (in my home-away-from home) is considered do-able. I cannot wait to finish pursuing my BA in Education so that I can try the Peace Corps out for a few years and eventually begin the long journey of creating an Alternative Education school for K-12. I think that's me in a very, very, very small nutshell...so remember: life's a journey, take a hike!
Sean Kinnally - Customer Service Manager
Sean is a Customer Service Manager as well as an Outdoor Trip Leader here at Rec. Sports. He loves to workout and will pretty much do any outdoors activity, and also enjoys going to the beach and snowboarding. He also loves to travel, he has been to Europe, Mexico , and is planning on travleling to Canada this summer.

Molly Nazeck - Membership Staff and Outdoors Trip Leader
Molly Nazeck is a sophomore here at Cal State majoring in Public Health. Her bubbly upbeat personality makes her just one of many exceptional Rec Sports employees. She has been working for Rec Sports as a Membership Services staff for a little over 2 quarters now and has just recently added rock wall staff to her resume! She is active, motivated, and very personable. In her off time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family and enjoying sunny days outside. She takes her coursework very seriously but also knows how to have fun! If you get the pleasure of having Molly belay you, you are in for an awesome experience!

Kate Reynolds - Climbing Wall Staff
Kate is a Kinesiology major concentrating in exercise science and has dreams of becoming an athletic trainer for the Paralympics. In February 2011, fellow climbing wall staff member David Dysart dragged Kate down to the Rec Center to climb. Since then, she's never left, or at least that is how it seems. She spent a whole quarter climbing at least three days a week, from opening to closing. The climbing wall is her home away from home. Come to climb and Kate will gladly belay you, whether working or not. You will find her constantly challenging herself with combination climbs.
Junjie Shen - OD Trip Volunteer
I am an international student from China. My major is Environmental Sciences PSM option. I like all kinds of sports, like tennis, basketball, swimming. Outdoor travelling is my favorite. I am always ready for any kind of trip. I have been to Mojave Preserve National Preserve, Death Valley National Park, and Vegas for sure. I have also been to a lot of wonderful places in China, like Beijing, Lijiang, Shangri La, Dali, Guilin, Xi'an and Hangzhou. I like to meet cool people with shared interest and amazing stories. That's why I like travelling so much!

Arielle Slone - Outdoor Trip Leader
Arielle is one of our most precious leaders. Little is known about where she came from or how she got here, but one thing is for clear... she loves ALIGATORS. SERIOUSLY. If you ever see an Alilgator on the side of the road while you're in the van with her, you can bet that she's gonna stop and go all Crocodile Hunter on that thing. Thinking of a good birthday/christmas present for her? Two words. LIVE ALIGATOR! Thinking of a good place to take her for a nice dinner? Take her to a place that serves (two words...!) LIVE ALIGATOR! Wanna go bike riding with her? She'll ride with you... on her LIVE ALIGATOR! Get the idea? When she's not thininking about her future raising LIVE ALIGATORS, she is working on her Business Degree, decorating cakes, or doing Yoga. She also enjoys "the ocean quite thoroughly" and "the mountains, and the animals and Breakfast cereal and climbing". (<--- Her words, not mine) THE END.
Becca Smith - Climbing Wall Staff and Trip Leader
Becca is one of our most valued staff. She's got a great personality and a passion for climbing that extends beyond the CSUSB rock wall over the mountains and through the hills. She's also passionate about bears. She LOVES bears! Ever since a child when she was taken and raised by them, she has always considered herself a bear lover. We are unsure how this effects her relationship with her teddy bears at home. She HATES the word "terrible". She simply cant stand it when people say it. Besides this, Becca fits into the Rec Center staff wonderfully.
Orlando Valencia - OD Trip Leader
Orlando graduated from CSUSB in winter 2010 with a BA in Business Administration, concentration in Marketing. He is a trip leader for the Outdoors Program. In his free time, Orlando is usually out playing one of many sports or leading an Outdoor trip.
