CSUSB Outdoors offers a comprehensive selection of camping, backpacking, snowboarding, kayaking, surfing and climbing equipment and gear for rent to members of the CSUSB community at low prices. Our goal is to provide well maintained top quality equipment at the lowest prices. So please take advantage of what we offer.

We encourage you to rent some gear from us and explore our surroundings. Within two hours drive of campus there are hundreds of great outdoor adventures awaiting you. Rental Shop Hours

• Equipment Rental Spring 2008

• April 1, 2008 - June 15, 2008

• Monday - Friday: 100pm - 600pm
• Saturday and Sunday: Closed

• Equipment Return
• 7 days a week during regular SRFC hours at least 1 hour before close

• Hours will be reduced during breaks and summer.

Snowboard Rentals

Mountain High. Bear Mountain. Snow Summit. Snow Valley. Mt. Baldy. The best skiing and snowboarding in Southern California are just a short drive away from campus. Save money and time by renting your snow gear from CSUSB Outdoors before heading up the hill. We rent quality Burton Snowboards and wax every board after every use. Backpacking and Camping Rentals

Soaking in the Deep Creek Hot springs. Summiting the Nine Peaks of the San Gorgonio Wilderness. Traveling along the Pacific Crest Trail. CSUSB Outdoors has a plethora of gear and can rent out for you and your friends for not a lot of Money. Don’t know where to go? Surfing Rentals

The Southern California coastline boasts some of the world’s best surfing. While the rest of the country is still shaking off the frost of winter, we head down to San Clemente State Beach to take advantage of the sunny SoCal weather. Whether you are a surfing pro, or just a beginner, we have the gear you need. Click here for a complete rental list and prices.

Kayaking Rentals

We have just added a fleet of new tandem and single decked Necky kayaks to our program. We also have the accessories you need to get you on the water. Weather you are headed to inland waters (Colorado River, Silverwood Lake, Big Bear Lake, Mono Lake, etc.) or to the coast, (Santa Barbara, Newport, La Jolla, etc.) be sure to rent from CSUSB Outdoors first. Climbing Rentals

Have some friends you want to take bouldering or climbing? We now rent climbing shoes, bouldering pads and chalk bags. Southern California is full of great locations to climb for all levels of climbers. Don’t know how to climb? Visit the CSUSB Climbing Wall or go on one of our trips. If all you need is some gear you will find it here.

How to Pick Up and Return Equipment

Equipment Pick Up- Stop by the Student Recreation and Fitness Center (SRFC) membership services desk Monday – Friday between 10am – 6pm (hours are reduced during summer and breaks) and our helpful staff will be glad check you out the gear you need. If you are unfamiliar with our gear please allow some time for us to show you how to set it up and use it.

Returns- Returns will be accepted by the Student Recreation and Fitness Center (SRFC) membership services desk during SRFC hours at least 1 hour before the center closes. When returning your equipment please be sure it is clean and dry or you may be charged a cleaning fee. All items need to be returned on the due date or you will be charged a late fee equal to the 1-day fee for each day overdue. Check out our complete rental policies here.

Rental Rates and Length

When two rates are listed SRFC Members and CSUSB students pay the lower rate. Payment is due at time of reservation. Stove fuel is available for sale only.

1-day- This allows you to rent an item until 1 hour before closing the following day.

Additional days- To rent items for longer than one day you will be charged the additional day rate for each extra day on top of the 1-day rate.

Weekend- The weekend only rate allows you to pick up an item on Friday and return it on Monday for a 25% discount. Items picked up earlier or returned later will receive no discount.

Reservations

At this time we do not take reservations. All equipment is available on a first come, first served basis.
