In an effort to give back to the environment and community, CSUSB Outdoors is partnering with the San Gorgonio Wilderness Association, a non-profit group dedicated to protecting the San Bernardino National Forest; to perform much need service in the Cucamonga Wilderness. This beautiful wilderness includes spectacular vistas, pines and bighorn sheep. Our destination will be Momyer Trail where we will perform trail work and possibly assist in tree removal. Join us and give back to our local wilderness!
*To meet the needs of our services we have changed the meeting time to 630 am*
Day 1: We will meet at the SRWC at 6:30 am Saturday Morning to prep all our gear, we will be departing the SWRC by 7:00 am to arrive at the Mill Creek Visitor Center. We will be departing at 7:00 am to allow for plenty of time to meet the Trail Crew at 8:00 am to review safety issues and caravan to the trailhead. We will be working on a service project along the Momyer Trail in the San Gorgonio Wilderness. After service, we will make our way to our campsite at Alger Creek Trail Camp where we will enjoy the cool and quiet atmosphere of the mountains. We will set up camp and enjoy dinner and dessert before calling it an early night!
Day 2: After a long night of rest we will make breakfast, enjoy a short hike and then make our way out of the wilderness back to our van and begin making our way back to CSUSB. We may stop for dinner on the way home somewhere too!
* The Itinerary is subject to change depending on environmental factors and service needed*
