Purpose

The purpose of this program is to get the CSUSB community excited about taking their first steps toward a healthy and happy lifestyle. The participants in this program will be introduced to others who share these interests and work together encouraging one another along the way. To get started, complete the form at the bottom of this page.

How this Works

We will provide maps of various routes and their distances to all participants. The participants will then keep track of how many steps they have taken for each day. Each participant will have a log, which they will be responsible to maintain. They are responsible for keeping their own results. At the end of the quarter, each participant that has completed the "Challenge" for that quarter will be awarded a certificate of completion and be entered into a drawing for prizes.

The Challenge

Beginner

Challenge 500,000 steps; the equivalent to 250 miles. This is the distance from CSUSB to Lake Havasu, just in time for summer at the river!

500,000 Steps/10 Weeks = 50,000 Steps/Week = 7,142 Steps/Day (Low Active)

Advanced

This challenge will increase each term, for Spring 2008, it is 550,000 steps; the equivalent to 275 miles. This is just over the distance from CSUSB to Cayucos along the beach for summer!

550,000 Steps/10 Weeks = 55,000 Steps/Week = 7,857 Steps/Day (Somewhat Active)
