Aquatics Supervisor

Definition:

Under the direction of the Outdoor Programs/Aquatics Coordinator, the Aquatics
Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of pool users during all Aquatics
programs as well as the hiring, training and scheduling of lifeguard staff.

Duties:

Constantly observes all condition in and around the pools.

Provide a maximum degree of preventive caution in the use of aquatic facilities.

Make sure everyone checks in with their Coyote One Card or membership pass.

Prevent accident through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulations governing the
conduct of persons in the water, on the diving boards, and on the pool deck.

Rescue persons in distress.

Administer first aid and artificial respiration as necessary.

Open and secures aquatic facility promptly according to schedule.

Wear lifeguard staff shirt and red, black, or blue swimsuit or shorts at all times.

Complete daily participation report/maintenance forms. Include all safety and
maintenance items.

Complete Accident Report Forms when necessary.

Aquatics Supervisor will run our extensive Learn to Swim Program in the summer under
the direction of the Aquatics Coordinator.

The incumbent will perform other comparable duties as assigned by the Aquatics
Coordinator and/or the Aquatics Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) units at California State University,
San Bernardino and maintain a quarterly and cumulative G.P.A. above 2.0.

Experience: The incumbent must possess and maintain current certifications in American
Red Cross Lifeguard/Advanced Lifesaving, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the
Professional Rescuer and Standard or Advanced First Aid during employment. Previous
Life-guarding and/or participation in aquatics preferred.

Compensation: $8.50 - $14.00 per hour
