CSUSB Recreational Sports is proud to announce Jasmine Zephyer as May's Rock Star of the Month. She brings an incredible amount of spirit to the Rec Sports Team. Jasmine is recognized for her friendly and warm personality that is shared with all that she comes into contact with. Jasmine is the Rec Sports spokesperson. No matter where you find her, she is talking about and pumping up Rec Sports programs. Take one of Jasmine's dance classes, like Hip Hop X, and you are guarateed to have the most amazing time. She has such a passion and gift for teaching that you can't help but learn and have fun!

CSUSB Recreational Sports is proud to announce Paul Dudley as April's Rock Star of the Month. Paul has always been the first to learn new rules, also implement our new online registration software, and he has always helped everyone around him. He engages all areas of our programs such as CSM, Outdoors, Aquatics, Membership Services, Operations, and the Climbing Wall. This has fostered good working relationships and helped bridge our staff. He has a great work ethic and has a smile that lights up the room. He is a school DJ and announces commercials for Recreational Sports. He stays late and even tries to work from home. His Intramural leagues are the most popular and most attended. His nick name is Mr. CSUSB because he won the CSUSB pageant. Paul puts in the hard the work and the results are undeniable. It is with great pride and admiration on an award well deserved to Paul Dudley, Mr. CSUSB.

CSUSB Recreational Sports is proud to announce Wayne Calzada as February's Rock Star of the Month. He has been such an asset to the Rec Sports team. His co-workers say that on the "ladder of legitness", Wayne has achieved Sensei status. He is known for his cool, calm, and collected attitude. No matter the situation, Wayne knows just what to do and always does it with a smile. He has often approached management with ways to improve efficiency and communication in the Rec Center. Not only is he a great staff member, but he is an active participant in our programs. He truly loves being part of the Rec Center community and we love having him.

CSUSB Recreational Sports is proud to announce Matt Shaw as the January Rock Star of the Month. Matt is the first person to help and the last person to leave. He always thinks of others first. He is humble and modest. It is his most valuable strength. Matt never brings attention to himself while at work and his business as usual approach is always applied regardless of how busy the day might be. He treats all staff and members with respect. He has a level headed attitude and is always a pleasure to work with.

CSUSB Recreational Sports is proud to announce Melissa Bernstein as the December Rock Star of the Month. She has been a great member of the Rec Sports team. Melissa is a hard working student and an excellent employee who is willing to give 100% time and time again. She has been with the department for just over 3 years and has been a great constant for the members and the staff. It is very important to Melissa that all who visit the Rec Center have a positive experience and always want to return. Melissa is always willing to lend a hand when needed and goes the extra mile without being asked. We truly appreciate this dedication to the success of the Rec Center.

Department: Office
Todd is a graphic design student assistant at Recreational Sports. He produces amazing flyers along with other amazing graphic designs. You could call him an artist, as many others do. Other CSUSB Departments frequently ask for his services. Todd provides amazing customer service and is always patient, which isn’t always easy with graphic neophytes. Todd consistently deals with opinions changing, and does so with ease. Finally, he is proactive in improving the look of Recreational Sports. He is an excellent role model and ROCK STAR!
Department: Intramurals
CSUSB Recreational Sports is proud to announce Josh Brannen as the October Rock Star of the Month. Josh has tirelessly helped out all program areas he works late, weekends, and early mornings. Under his direction intramurals has weekend programs, first time in its history. He is a role model for staff. He also helped develop and implement E-Z facility and scheduler, current project has stats for all games to be included on our site. He has also helped with RHA housing leagues which have impacted our program with huge numbers of participation, also first in our history work actively with, student union program board, ASI, and kinesiology. Our program also has very good staff and it shows customer service is also at an all time high.

CSUSB Recreational Sports is proud to announce Andi Okoh as the September Rock Star of the Month. Andi has been an amazing leader to Membership Services staff. She is a role model to other student employees and is truly dedicated to the success of the Rec Center. More over, she played a tremendous role this summer with the SOAR program and with coordinating our role in this huge orientation program for incoming freshman. She helped make sure that the incoming students' information was in the membership system in order to have easier access to the Student Rec Center. During her time with Rec Sports, she has become a membership software guru and assisted in the conversion for students who were using random pin codes to using student id numbers to access the facility. This has made it much easier for student members to remember their access codes, since it is now the same as their student ids. Great job Andi - I know the students thank you as well.

CSUSB Recreational Sports is proud to announce Philip DeMoss as the August Rock Star of the Month. Philip has been with Rec Sports since Fall of 2006 and since then has developed into a great example of what a Rec Sports employee should be. He is currently the Customer Service Manager Supervisor and has helped develop this new program area from scratch. He assisted in the creation of Rec Connections, our employee orientation program. He is a pleasure to work with and is always willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. He has the best interests of his staff and the members at heart with each decision and interaction.

In addition to being a super Aquatics supervisor, Kari Brandt's contributions to the CSUSB Outdoors program is greatly appreciated. When she is on a trip as a leader our participants are in good hands. Her positive attitude shows whether it's by wearing an "outfit" to events or attending and participating in staff appreciation events (just ask to see all her participation ribbons!). Karen keeps us looking good…digitally. She designs and maintains our incredible website, all while making sure it complies with ADA standards. These standards ensure that anyone can read our site, and in doing so, limits features that can be seen on other sites. However, Karen is creative and talented and has taken many of our challenges and made them work. In addition, she helps all areas with their needs. Karen has helped us become world-wide!
