CSUSB Outdoors is proud to support the San Gorgonio Wilderness Association as they host the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour in Redlands, CA on March 31, 2010 at 7pm.

You can now purchase discounted tickets for $11 at the CSUSB Student Recreation and Fitness Center Membership Desk. Tickets are also available at www.sgwa.org, for $12. Tickets are limited and many showings sell out!

Location: Clock Auditorium, Redlands High School, 840 East Citrus Ave., Redlands, CA. Arrive early to allow for parking and for best seat selection.

Highlights of the climbing wall

One of the highlights of the Student Fitness and Recreation Center is a 34' high, 1,000 square foot climbing wall, which is open to all CSUSB students and SRFC members.

  1. A comprehensive selection of climbing programs and classes.
  2. A great environment for climbers of all experience levels to train and improve their skills.
  3. Free harness, shoes and chalk bag usage.
  4. Classes taught by PCIA certified Instructors

Climbing Programs

Open Climbing Current Hours

During Open Climb time, the Rock Wall Staff will provide all the necessary supervision during your climb to the top. All equipment is provided. Bouldering is also allowed during open climb. Open Climbing is free and registration is not required.

Accessible Climbing Current Hours

We have special training and equipment that can assist people with disabilities to climb our wall. If have a disability and would like to climb our wall please give us 72 notice so we can accommodations. Accessible climbing is available anytime the wall is open.

Bouldering Current Hours

A fun and challenging traverse across the wall or just part way up the wall instead of ascending the whole wall. Boulder is done short distances from the ground and does not require a belay but may require spotting. Bouldering is a great way to work on your technique. Bouldering is available anytime the wall is open.

Belay Clinics Every Tuesday and Wednesday 500pm - 700pm

Learn the basics of belaying and climbing. We will go over climbing commands and terminology as well as knots for climbing. This class is required before you can belay on the wall. The clinic is free, but registration is required. Classes offered weekly. Already know how to belay? You can challenge the clinic. This is by appointment only and is Free.

Movement Class Every Wednesday 700pm Ð 900pm

The Movement Class will teach climbing techniques ranging from basic to more advanced movement skills. Have you seen climbers move gracefully up the wall and wonder how they do that? Want to practice to get a higher score for the next Competition? This class will help you move up the wall and up the rankings. This class is offered every week and will have a new focus each week. Classes are free, simply show up and learn.

Intro Lead Climbing Classes Class Schedule Here

More challenging than climbing on a top rope belay, when lead climbing, the lead climber ascends the route, while placing protection on wall anchors. Advanced climbers only. Class fee $8. Advance registration required.

Slacklining Every Tuesday and Wednesday 300pm - 500pm

Slacklining is a balance sport which utilizes nylon webbing stretched tight between two anchor points. Slacklining helps you improve balance, build core strength and increase flexibility. It's also really fun and free for members! Please join us on the lawn in front of the SRFC.

Women Who Rock Every Monday from 8:00pm - 9:30pm

Come join other women at the SRFC Rock Wall to climb in a friendly, supportive atmosphere along with other women. This program is designed to unite women of all skill levels as well as to providing an introduction to movement and various techniques catering to women's strengths and varying abilities. Open to all and its free.
