CSUSB Recreational Sports, an authorized American Red Cross provider, will provide training in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. Successful completion of the course will result in the certification required for lifeguarding at swimming pools in the State of California. Each participant must pass the Swim Test on the first night, or a full refund will follow. You must be 15 years of age or older to participate. Classes are taught both in and out of the water. You must attend, on time, all class dates/times within the registration period in order to attain certification. Minimum class size: Must have six (6) pre-registered students by the Wednesday prior to start of session to avoid cancellation of class. Phone (909) 537-7946 for additional information. To register, come into the SRFC and membership services (at the front desk) will register you in the course and take payment.

By popular demand CSUSB Aquatics will offer a lifeguard preparation course this summer. The American Red Cross Guard Start: Lifeguarding tomorrow, is for young adults ages 11-14 and provides a foundation of lifeguarding and other life skills. For those with swimming skills, this program is an ideal transition between Red Cross Learn-to-swim and Lifeguarding.
July 23 - August 2 (Session 3): 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

CSUSB Campus Pool
A valid parking permit is needed to park on the CSUSB campus. Parking is not included with training courses. The closest campus lots are Lot G or E. You need a valid campus parking permit or you can purchase a day pass for $5 at an information kiosk or at a machine ($1 bills only).
Register in person at the Student Recreation and Fitness Center during normal operating hours. Full payment is due at time of registration.
