Facorite Part about her Job: Vanessa loves the excitement on a child's face when he/she learns to swim on his/her own for the first time! Seeing how happy kids get is why she loves teaching swimming!

Interests/Fun Facts: Vanessa is a former volleyball player, exellent swimmer and talented artist (hand painted a children's community center). She loves camping, dirtbike riding, and line dancing. Vanessa also loves enchiladas (especially hers).

Favorite Part about her Job: Bryanna loves to work with a variety of swimmers and see them improve and have fun in the water.

Interests: Bryanna is a huge bookworm; she just loves to read. She also likes to do crafts and she always has some project that she is working on. Also in her free time she likes to do puzzles.

Fun Fact: Bryanna just finished my water polo career. She has been playing since her freshman year of high school and it has given her the best experiences and memories that she could have ever hoped for.

Quote/Life Philosophy: Some people tell themselves that they will work twice as hard tomorrow to make up for what they did NOT do today. People should ALWAYS DO their best. If they can work twice as hard tomorrow, then they should have also worked twice as hard today. Catching up leaves no room for them to do their BEST. People with the philosophy of putting off and then working twice as hard CHEAT themselves.

Matt Harp - Lifeguard

Matt Harp is a Kinesiology major with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy. Matt speaks both German and French and is a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. 

Matt Harp - Aquatics

Matt, also known as Ryan, lives in the local mountains and is in his 4th year at CSUSB. His major was computer engineering and now has converted to Kinesiology. He likes to stay as busy as he can with hobbies including snowboarding, paintball, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, backpacking, sleeping, camping, airsofting, weight lifting, hanging out with his bros and anything outdoors. He has had several jobs including Bike tech, US Forest service trail maint, Snowboard instructor, ski patrol and the US Army.  Before he dies, he wants to jump out of a perfectly good aircraft, bench press twice his weight, tour eurpoe again. He also volunteers within the USAF Auxiliary for the past 5 years and holds the rank of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel, Eaker Award. He will be graduating in 2014 for the ROTC.

Interests: Marissa is interested in anything that tests her limits, whether it be intellectually or physically. Marrissa would rather fail than never try!

Fun Fact: Although Marissa is not vocally blessed, she makes up for it by learning lots of musical instruments.

Chris Oltman - Lifeguard and Water Safety Instrutor

Chris (aka aquaman) is a Kinesiology graduate (2010) and is returning in the Fall for the Nursing Program. He has worked for Rec Sports since 2008 and owes all this to the jogging class he took with his boss Andrea back in 2007! He enjoys swimming and running (in that order) and dislikes eggplants (the fruit and the plant). He likes Trader Joes, movies, Obama, reading and Starbucks (in no particular order). Chis also has a cartilaginous skeleton and a streamlined body. He respires with the use of seven gill slits. He has a covering of dermal denticles that protect his skin from damage and parasites and improve fluid dynamics; he also has replaceable teeth.

Interests: Sarah enjoys the outdoors - climbing, hiking, skiing and wakeboarding. She also enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with family.
