About Our Program
American Red Cross certified multi-level swim lessons are taught by American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructors. Students are provided a positive and fun opportunity to acquire important, life-long aquatic skills
Adult Group – Learn to Swim
This class is for beginners with little to no experience or comfort in the water. Students will learn to float, hold their breath, survival skills, and an introduction to swimming strokes.

Registration
Registration for Adult Group Learn to Swim Lessons take place at the CSUSB Student Fitness and Recreation Center on Coyote Drive during normal operating hours. Full payment is required. We do not offer online, over the phone, or registration by mail.
Cancellation Policy
- Refunds will be given, minus $10 cancellation charge, if a withdrawal request is made more than 7 days before the schedule class
- No Refund for request made less than 7 days prior
- Transfer from one class to another is possible if the class is not already full.
- Minimum enrollment is required in each class. Classes are subject to cancellation.
Location
All lessons are taught at the CSU, San Bernardino campus pool. Located behind the Physical Education Building, adjacent to the Coussoulis Arena. Parking lot "G" is the closest parking to the pool. Campus directions and map
Parking
A valid parking permit is needed to park on the CSUSB campus. Parking is not included with adult lessons. The closest campus parking lots are Lot G and E. You can purchase a day pass for $5, at an information kiosk or at a parking permit dispenser ($1 bills only).
Stroke Refinement - Adult
Already know how to swim but want to get better? This is the class for you. The objectives of this class are to coordinate and refine strokes. Participants refine their performance of all strokes (front crawl, back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke) and increase their distances. Flip turns on the front and back are also introduced.

Stroke Clinic
The stroke clinic is intended for individuals who have the fundamentals of swimming and would like to improve their skills. Whether you want to improve your stroke technique, speed, or endurance, this class is designed to meet your needs. If you would like the opportunity to improve your swimming, join us at the HPE Pool. Class is open to CSUSB students, Rec Center members and Aquatics members. No registration required.

Private Swim Lessons
About
Private lessons are offered year round
These lessons are catered to your wants and needs in a swimming program. It will consist of a number of 40-60 minute lessons scheduled when you need the lesson. Lesson must take place during normal hours of operation. Please complete the Adult Private Swim Lesson Request form below and a CSUSB Aquatics Instructor will contact you to schedule the lessons. Two weeks prior notice is required.
Adult Private Lesson Rates (40 - 60 minutes)
$18 per session for CSUSB Students or SRFC Members
$20 per session for Faculty, Staff, or Alumni Assoc.

Adult Semi-Private Lessons - 2 people (40 - 60 minutes)
